Mardi Gras and some! Wednesday, Feb 22 2012

As I sit here enjoying my popcorn, because I have already had my King Cake and about a months worth of sweets today, I realized that I have not blogged in a few days.  That’s just not nice of me.  So many things going on.

The weekend was filled with fun, food, and friends.

Friday night we hung out with some friends and enjoyed beer and champagne.

Satruday night we attended a Mardi Gras party.  Not quite Louisiana style but definitely reminded us of  home.

Sunday night the hubby and I finally went out to celebrate our anniversary.  We went to The Melting Pot.  It was so yummy.

Monday the kids were out of school.  We had company over for some Gumbo, Potato salad, deviled eggs, sweet tea and King Cake.  Yes, I ordered my King Cake.  We also found out that we will be moving to Tampa, Florida this summer.  I am so excited.  I have wanted to go there forever.

Tonight my blog is also about Lent.  I am not part of a Religion that gives up things for Lent.  However, I have decided to try it out this year.  What better way to give up something?  Therefore, with the support of friends and family, I have decided to give up smoking!  There I said it.  The way I look at it, I am not getting the full benefits of clean living if I am still smoking these nasty cigarettes.  I guess my biggest fear is weight gain.  OF course, I am in the gym a lot so I am hoping that will be enough.  Wish me luck! Please

Also, I have been trying to figure out why I hit a Plateau so fast.  I figured it out this weekend.  It is my emeals that I love so much.  Thing is, I haven’t reached my goal weight.  Therefore, I am at a stand still and just maintaining.  Good thing is, I haven’t gained any.  I will resume my emeals once I have reached my weight loss goal.

I hope you enjoy this post and I hope you all have a great evening.

It’s Finally Friday! Saturday, Jan 21 2012

Yay for the weekend!  This weekend is going to be busy.  First, I am going to go through my pantry and take out all of the food that we are not going to eat.  This comes about because I find myself going in there everynight to find something to cook for dinner.  I move boxes and cans and packages that I do not want to cook because it is neither clean nor healthy!  So, this weekend I have decided to purge it and fill it with clean, healthy foods.  I will be shopping for my menu from  I am going to be donating this food to someone that can use it.  :)I am also hoping to make it to the gym.  There are no classes for me to attend in group fitness, so I guess I will just run.  That isn’t such a bad idea.  There should be a 5k in the spring and I need to gear up for that.  Next, Saturday night out with friends and family.  Should be fun.  Last, Church on Sunday and then hopefully a nap afterwards.  I love going to Church with the family on Sunday and then coming home to a nap.

Todays eating was ok.  For breakfast, Special K vanilla bar. Lunch, Jasons Deli.  If you haven’t been there you should try it, if there is one near you.  I had a veggie mufalatta (sp?).  It was so yummy.  These things are huge.  I ordered 1/4 sandwich and a small cup of gumbo.  That was enough food for two meals.  Therefore, I had the other half for dinner.  Side Story: The menu said “Cajun Gumbo”.  I asked the girl if the Gumbo was good.  She tells me that it is like New Orleans Style Gumbo.  Ok, I tell her I am from Louisiana and it is really hard to find that type of Gumbo anywhere else.  Come to find out she has never had “Louisiana” Gumbo.  LOL!  Sweet girl, but she really needs to have some of “OUR” gumbo.  The Gumbo was good by the way.

Do you have big plans for the weekend?  Will you stay on track with eating and exercising over the weekend?

🙂 Whatever you plan, have a great weekend!!!!!

Trying to relax a bit! Saturday, Jan 14 2012

After a pretty intense work out schedule this week, I have decided to try and relax a bit.  Yeah right, with 3 boys, I will let you know how that works out for me.  I am planning to go to the gym tomorrow since I did take off on Thursday.  I was disappointed to learn that they have taken body pump out of the Saturday schedule 😦 Well I guess I will start back running.

Well I am going to let you get back to your weekend now.  Have a great one. 🙂

Wonderful Weekend! Monday, Nov 14 2011

Due to Veterans Day and my hubby being off since Friday, we had a great weekend starting Thursday night.  Thursday was the 236th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps.  We had a bunch of Marine families over to celebrate, complete with a birthday cake.  Everyone had a great time.  It’s a big deal to gather with Marines here at Fort Leavenworth because there are so few of us.

Friday, we went to the Veterans Day parade with some friends and then to a pizza shoppe.  After all of that fun and excitement I came home and took a long nap.  I felt it was well deserved.  Saturday, we had to go get my new iphone and had friends over again.  I made soup and the kids all enjoyed smores and little weenies over the fire.  Yes, you can say it.  Busy weekend.  We took Sunday a little slower.  The only major thing was grocery shopping.  Of course, that is a necessity for the family to eat.  HAHA 🙂

My eating clean is still going well.  I did have some “treats” this weekend of course!  But I am still losing weight!  I am going to cut this post short for tonight.  Please tune in tomorrow for the recipe for Chicken Tortilla Soup.  I know you’ve been waiting!

It is Friday! Friday, Oct 14 2011

Do you just love Friday?  I know I do.  This Friday is different for me.  On my ‘usual’ Friday, I was already looking forward to how much sleep I could get during the weekend.  I would make sure to plan my outings around a nap.  Well, not this weekend.  After this awesome week of exercise and trying to settle into the new diet, I am motivated to keep moving.   How will you spend your weekend?
